Did you know that you are eligible to enroll in Medicare 3 months before you turn 65, the month of your 65th birthday, and 3 months after your 65th birthday? This is the rule that will apply to most people – but there are special cases when folks can enroll before.
Medicare, for most people, is unlike any coverage they would have had in the past. Medicare coverage is different from employer coverage in that you will have to select the plans you want, based on your needs. With employer coverage, you probably just needed to check a few boxes and then never thought about it again. Medicare is different, and it takes a bit more effort to get what you want out of it.
Choosing the right plan can be overwhelming – there are so many different options. It is easy to enroll in a plan that doesn’t give you the coverage you want. Or if you do get the coverage you want, you could be overpaying for it.
We know how busy your life can be at times. Who has time to learn the Medicare playbook from step 1 and find out what is important for your needs? You shouldn’t spend hours worrying about figuring it out for yourself.
Your mailbox is probably filling up with everyone telling you to sign up for their Medicare plan. How do you know who you can trust?
What is the difference between Part A, B, C, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Supplements? And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
